The UBC Doctoral Fellowships Program will ensure that leading UBC PhD, DMA, and MDPhD students are provided with financial funding of at least $ 18,200 per year and a four-year course in their doctoral studies.

The program allows UBC to continue to attract and support outstanding home and international medical students, and to provide those students with a steady, low-level support for their doctoral and research studies.

Four-Year Fsocis may be hosted by local and international students. Typically, relationships are offered to students who are beginning their first year of full-time PhD, DMA, or MDPhD, but may not be offered to advanced students.
4YF funding may be provided for up to four years, but the duration of funding may be limited in some cases (please refer to the 4YF Guidelines for details). In all cases, funding is subject to satisfactory educational progress.
Students who hold the following Tri-Agency awards automatically become 4YF nominees: Vanier Scholarships, Doctoral Canada Graduate Scholarships (CGSD), CIHR Medical Research Awards, NSERC Doctoral Postgraduate Scholarships (PGSD), and -SSHRC Doctoral Fellowships.
Doctor students who receive Tri-Agency scholarships may be eligible for 4YF tuition and will receive a 4YF stipend and scholarship study if their external funding expires.

How to Apply: In order to consider a four-year Fellowship Association scholarship, students apply for admission to the appropriate degree program at UBC. For information on admission procedures and requirements visit the Request and Admission page.
All PhD, DMA, and MDPhD applicants who receive accreditation are automatically considered 4YF funding.
