Applications are now open for the Aga Khan Foundation International Scholarship so never miss this great opportunity. Each year, the Aga Khan Foundation provides a limited number of scholarships for postgraduate study to outstanding students from developing countries with no other means of funding their studies in the Aga Khan Foundation International Scholarship for the eligible students.  Scholarships are awarded through a competitive application process once a year on a 50% grant : 50% loan basis in the Aga Khan Foundation International Scholarship for the students. Applications are accepted from those who are originally from one of the above developing countries of the students in the Aga Khan Foundation International Scholarship 2022, are interested in development-related studies and who have no other means of financing their education so come and join this as soon as possible.

Scholarship value/inclusions/duration:

Tuition and living expenses are the only expenses covered by the Foundation for the students who are interested to study here. AKF scholarships do not cover travel costs for the students who are able to get admission in this university.  PhD students receive funding for their first two years of study, after which they are expected to find other sources of assistance for the students in the Aga Khan Foundation International Scholarship.

An annual service charge of 5% is imposed on the scholarship amount, which is considered a loan for the students in the Aga Khan Foundation International Scholarship. The loan agreement must be co-signed by a guarantor for the students in the Aga Khan Foundation International Scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria:

Geographic Scope

Nationals of Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Syria, Egypt, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Madagascar, and Mozambique for the students so all students can apply  in the Aga Khan Foundation International Scholarship. Applicants from France, Portugal, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Canada who are originally from one of the above developing countries, are interested in development-related studies, and have no other means of financing their education are accepted for the students in the Aga Khan Foundation International Scholarship.

Residency Requirement

Applications are only accepted from nationals listed above who reside in one of the countries where Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) for the students, Aga Khan Education Services (AKES), or Aga Khan Education Board (AKEB) offices process applications and interview candidates in the Aga Khan Foundation International Scholarship.

Age Limit

Students under the age of 30 are given preference in the Aga Khan Foundation International Scholarship.

Application instructions:

As of January 1st of each year, students can obtain application forms from AKF offices or Aga Khan Education Services/Boards in the countries where they reside for the students in the Aga Khan Foundation International Scholarship.

Applications should be returned to the agency that provided the form. Do not send them to Geneva for the students in the Aga Khan Foundation Scholarship. In some countries, application deadlines may be earlier, so it is advisable to submit your application by 31 March for the students in the Aga Khan Foundation Scholarship. It is recommended that applicants contact their local offices for information regarding internal deadline dates and requirements since these may vary by country for the students in the Aga Khan Foundation Scholarship
