Classroom-Based Internships
Direct mentorship and training in a hands-on classroom environment for the students in the Pixar Internship

• Animation
  A twelve-week summer course for those interested in a career in character animation and performance for the students in the Pixar Internship

• Story 
  A twelve-week summer course for those interested in a career in the visual storytelling process through creating storyboards for the students in the Pixar Internship

• Pixar Undergraduate Program (PUP)
  A twelve-week summer course in technical direction for those interested in pursuing a career as a Technical Director for the students in the Pixar Internship

•  Layout
  A twelve-week course for those interested in a career using cinematic language and techniques through the layout process for the students in the Pixar Internship

Residencies

• Up to one-year terms available in Technical Direction, Software Research & Development, and Story for the students in the Pixar Internship

• Eligible for full benefits and relocation assistance for the students in the Pixar Internship

• Recent graduates from a bachelor’s, master’s or PhD program for the students in the Pixar Internship

• Terms start in winter or summer, coinciding with school graduation dates for the students in the Pixar Internship

Qualifications

In addition to a traditional academic path, Pixar recognizes that obtaining skills and knowledge can take different forms of life experience and has expanded intern qualifications:

• Traditional Academic Paths

  Enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program, or have graduated within one year from the start of the internship for the students in the Pixar Internship

• Less Traditional Professional Paths

  Career Transition: Those with a minimum of 5 years post-collegiate graduation professional experiences in a work/academic environment for the students in the Pixar Internship

  Armed Forces: Those who have served in the armed forces and are in a retraining program for the students in the Pixar Internships

  Home Schooled: Those who are self-taught via an alternative educational path for the students in the Pixar Internships

• Visa Sponsorship

  Unfortunately, we are not able to sponsor student visas at this time for the students in the Pixar Internships

Interning at Pixar

All Pixar internships are paid positions and take place in Emeryville, CA for the students in the Pixar Internships. Interns must be eligible to work in the US and must be enrolled in university or within one year of graduating for the students in the Pixar Internships. Be sure to apply for internships well in advance, as positions are highly competitive for the students in the Pixar Internships.
